Nielsen Names New MD for Hong Kong

Nielsen has moved Oliver Rust into the position of Managing Director, overseeing its business portfolio in Hong Kong. He replaces Ms Fanny Chan, who has moved to a regional role with the company.

Rust has more than 13 years' industry experience gained in Asia Pacific and Europe. He joined Nielsen in 2002, and most recently worked as Executive Director of Nielsen China, based in Shanghai. Prior to this, he worked at TNS in various client-servicing roles in Europe. He is a graduate of the University of Kent, where he majored in Human Geography.

Of his latest appointment, Rust says: 'It is exciting to return home to the city where I was born. Hong Kong is indeed a dynamic market and one that is best positioned for experimentation and innovation.'

Before taking up the post of Hong Kong MD in 2005, Chan was Executive Director of Retail Measurement Services at ACNielsen, where she had worked for 16 years. She was previously Director of ACNielsen Homescan Services.
