September 21 2009
In the US, multi-screen media measurement firm Rentrak has appointed market research industry veterans Steven Walsh and Jeremy Gabor to support the commercialization of its cross-media platform.

Walsh, who will take up his new post in January 2010, joins as Senior Vice President, Sales after a 20 year career in the audience research industry. He previously held sales leadership positions at TRA, Integrated Media Measurement Inc (IMMI), Experian Research Services, IAG Research, TNS Media Intelligence and Nielsen Media Research.

In addition, Walsh is a member of the Radio & Television Research Council and Advertising Research Foundation (ARF), and has been a guest lecturer at New York University, Syracuse University and the University of Connecticut.

In his new role, he will report to Cathy Hetzel, President of the AMI division at Rentrak and will lead the firm’s sales efforts in local markets.

Most recently, Gabor served as Vice President of National Media Services at Simmons Market Research where he was responsible for all national and local media sales and orchestrated large group deals with some of the country’s largest TV and cable networks.

As Director of Sales at Rentrak, he will report to Carol Hinnant, Senior Vice President of Business Development, AMI division.

‘Rentrak has built a powerful cross-platform media information service and will utilize the combined expertise of Steven and Jeremy, along with our existing team members, to continue to expand our client reach,’ said CEO Bill Livek.

Rentrak is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, with additional offices in Los Angeles, New York and Miami/Ft. Lauderdale.

Last month, the firm partnered with mobile TV service FLO TV to launch what they describe as the mobile TV industry’s first comprehensive viewership and ad impression reporting.
