Linkdex Secures $1m Funding for Search Linking

October 9 2009

A new search intelligence firm has been launched with $1m in Series A funding provided by investor Amadeus and Angels Seed Fund (AASF). London and San Francisco-based Linkdex aims to provide a view of how web sites connect with each other.

John StrawThe firm has already developed the beta of its first product SearchDNA, which enables users to identify sites from a web-map of more than one trillion links.

By crawling pages looking for keywords just like a search engine, the new tool allows users to pinpoint exactly which sites they should approach to link up with, says Linkdex, in order to boost their rankings and traffic.

This helps them create their own customized crawls of sites, and then prioritize the sites according to what is important to them.

'Like Google, SearchDNA collects a range of signals from its page crawls,' explained CEO and founder John Straw. 'However, unlike Google, it reports influence in a totally transparent manner with a uniquely customizable reporting structure.'

Linkdex, which has been formed by Straw, CTO John Woods and VP of Product Management Matt Roberts, is online at www.linkdex.com .
