GfK to Give Global Data for Consumer Electronics

GfK has created a global database of point-of-sale data for electronic consumer goods. The 'Digital World' service has been designed by GfK Retail and Technology in conjunction with the US Consumer Electronics Association (CEA).

Dr Gerard HermetThe service enables those with an interest in the IT, Telco and CE markets to compare, contrast and forecast their portfolios. Data will be sourced from more than 400,000 retailers across the world, and monthly product reports will be available, offering a view of the worldwide demand for electronic goods, insight into consumer behaviour by country and region, and analysis of competitor performance.

'This new venture marks a significant step in making essential, fact-based product information available across all countries for the very first time,' commented GfK Retail and Technology's COO, Dr Gerard Hermet.
