BskyB Exec is New AURA Chair

Danny Russell, Marketing Strategy Director at BskyB, is the new Chair of UK research client organisation AURA.

Russell, whose experience includes time at Boots, Kraft and British Airways, takes over the role from John Buckle of Alliance & Leicester, who becomes Vice Chair. Monique Hellel, Head of Personal Customers Research at HSBC, is the new Deputy Chair.

Russell says his top priority is to maintain and further improve recent high standards for AURA members, with features including an email network for sharing ideas, now evolving into an online discussion forum; member meetings six times a year, attended by between 50 and 80 people; and free training days, of which more than 100 members have had the benefit this Autumn.

He also aims to grow the membership, currently standing at 140 organisations, encompassing over 300 members, and feels there is plenty of scope. Members are estimated to directly control or influence about 30% of all UK research expenditure.
