Airport Security Survey App Launched

January 7 2010

In the US, On The Spot Systems - which enables businesses to gather information through the web and mobile devices - has upgraded its SURVEY ON THE SPOT product to enable air travellers to rate airport security screening.

iPhone Research Apps - really taking offSURVEY ON THE SPOT was originally designed for restaurants, hotels, retailers and other organizations to gather real-time guest satisfaction feedback using iPhone and smartphone technology.

The system, which uses the iPhone's GPS to identify the user's location, can now be used by travelers to complete a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Survey after they have passed through a security checkpoint.

This questionnaire is used by the TSA to rate screening procedures and gauge consumer confidence in the security of air travel.

To access the survey, iPhone users download the survey software free from the Apple App store. They then press 'find surveys around me', which will identify the airport they are departing from and allow them to begin the survey.

'The application can identify which airport you are flying out of, allowing you to provide the TSA with feedback immediately,' explained President Ken Kimmel. 'Our hope is that the feedback gathered through SURVEY ON THE SPOT will help the TSA improve the national security system.'
