Cegedim Buys US Health Care Specialist SK&A

January 12 2010

Cegedim Dendrite - the division of French pharma and healthcare data supplier Cegedim which provides CRM solutions for the life sciences industry - has acquired US healthcare data and research firm SK&A. Terms were not disclosed.

Laurent Schockmel and Dave EscalanteFounded twenty-six years ago, SK&A researches and maintains contact profiling information for more than two million healthcare practitioners, including 800,000-plus prescribers. It also offers a database of 100% telephone-verified e-mail addresses for US prescribers and professionals working at an active healthcare business site, and last summer opened a new division to meet the custom market research needs of healthcare and pharma agencies.

Cegedim Dendrite provides information on healthcare professionals in more than 60 countries around the world through its OneKey Services. It says that this acquisition will enable SK&A to expand its market opportunity within the life sciences industry, while complementing and strengthening its existing US OneKey offerings.

'SK&A brings immediate value to our OneKey customers and prospects in the US,' stated Laurent Schockmel, COO of Cegedim Americas. 'This acquisition enables Cegedim Dendrite to expand its US OneKey offerings to the levels achieved in other markets around the world.'

The newly acquired company will be branded as 'SK&A, A Cegedim Company', and integrated into Cegedim Dendrite's OneKey business unit. Dave Escalante, SK&A's current President and Chief CEO, will continue to lead the unit from its base in Irvine, California.
