Gelia Buys Media Researcher

In the US, marcoms agency Gelia has acquired full-service research, planning and buying firm NorthEast Media. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Gloria Boron-PembletonAs part of the deal, NorthEast Media's owner Gloria Boron-Pembleton, will join Gelia to serve as the agency's Media Director. She takes up her new role with more than 30 years' experience of developing, planning and implementing media strategies for a wide range of clients. Prior to founding the firm, she was Media Director for Travers/Collins/Partners and Senior Planner/Buyer for Eric Mower & Associates.

NorthEast Media specializes in multi-media campaigns (radio, TV, print, out-of-home) in single or multi-markets. The company uses STRATA research and scheduling tools to analyze radio, TV and cable surveys; and taps Nielsen's rating information to review trends in viewing habits.

Williamsville, NY-based Gelia supports a nationwide client base with strategic planning, web marketing, market research, PR, and search engine marketing.

Gelia's President and CEO Jamey Phipps says NorthEast Media is the 'perfect fit' for his firm.
