Outsell Boosts Subscriber Demographics Offer

February 18 2010

In the US, information and publishing industry research specialist Outsell has launched a service that offers clients more visibility into their subscribers' demographics and product engagement levels; and new opportunities to grow subscription revenues.

Greg ChagarisOutsell provides publishing and information industry clients with fact-based analysis and advice about competitors, markets, operational benchmarks, and best practices. Last week, the firm acquired The Gilbane Group; an analyst and consulting firm specialising in content and technologies.

The new 'Outsell Customer and Revenue Opportunity Analysis' service has been developed to help companies understand which of their products are in highest demand by which customer segments. It also identifies where the greatest potential exists for cross-selling and up-sells, and can pinpoint areas where demand for new products is most likely to be created.

The service begins with 90 days of collecting data to monitor subscriber demand, using a hosted behavioral analytics solution from Outsell partner Scout Analytics.

This uses a patent-pending analytic technique called Demand Rating, which compares how much a subscriber uses a service to how much he/she pays for it, and results in a comparable measure of customer engagement with a paid content product.

'By knowing which subscribers are engaged and which are not, content providers are well-positioned to take proactive measures for quick improvements,' stated co-founder and Corporate Development Officer Greg Chagaris.
