In the US, Knowledge Networks (KN) has promoted six company leaders to new roles, and also appointed media researcher Ethan Rapp to expand its Media practice.
Those promoted, who report to CEO Simon Kooyman, include:
- Richard Catrone Chief Operating Officer
- J. Michael (Mike) Dennis EVP, Government & Academic Research

The firm has also promoted Florian Kahlert (of KN Dimestore) and Wendy Wallner (CPG/Retail Research) to Senior Vice President roles.
In addition, KN has appointed Rapp from his former role as Director of Custom Research at Conde Nast Publications, where he oversaw the marketing and editorial research for titles such as Vogue and Vanity Fair.
Prior to this, he developed cross-media measurement methodologies at Marketing Evolution, and was a founding member of DoubleClick, where he built an online ad research department and developed online ad effectiveness and online consumer studies. He left in 2001 to create the research team at America Online.
These promotions strengthen KN on many fronts; expanding the senior team, ensuring continued excellence in our client interactions, and preparing for future growth, stated Kooyman. At the same time, we are adding an all-star researcher to our Media team, to help us develop new territory in digital and cross-media ad studies.
