Attensity to Buy Social Media Analyst Biz360

In the US, social media monitoring and market intelligence firm Biz360 is to be acquired by semantic analysis firm, the Attensity Group. Terms were not disclosed.

Upon close of the acquisition, the Biz360 team will be integrated into the organization with President and CEO Brad Brodigan joining Attensity as its Senior Vice President and General Manager.

According to Attensity, the acquisition expands its position in the Social Customer Relationship Management (Social CRM) market, by enhancing its ability to tap conversations taking place online.

Attensity offers applications that generate insight from any textual source - e-mail, CRM notes, survey responses, documents, and a vast amount of data found online such as news, web forums, communities, blogs, micro-blogging and other social sites.

Biz360 provides a social media monitoring solution, which combines traditional media analysis with feedback from the social media landscape. Using advanced data analytics, the firm aggregates and analyzes news and social media data to uncover metrics which enable clients to understand and engage their target audiences more effectively.

Attensity is acquiring Biz360 in its entirety, including pending patents, proprietary technologies, customer base, current products and products in development. The acquisition is subject to various standard closing conditions and is expected to close within 10 days.
