Upgrade for Mobile Survey Platform

June 25 2010

Mobile survey technology provider Techneos Systems has announced a new release of its SODA mobile survey platform, offering expanded data capture, editing and engagement features.

Launched in Septemberlast year, SODA works by downloading applications to mobile phones to run when they are offline, and connects to a wireless network as required to fetch projects and submit data. Users can create and conduct multi-lingual research on a wide variety of mobile phones, automating both traditional data collection methods and newer such as mobile research panels. Photo capture and GPS/location capture are also possible, as is use of social media tools.

Version 1.3 includes a number of new features such as:

  • pre-loaded surveys which allow partially completed questionnaires populated from existing data about respondents
  • email-style messaging options for fieldworker contact
  • enhanced support for double byte languages such as Chinese, Hindi, Arabic and Vietnamese
  • data cleaning
  • Excel 2007 compatibility, and
  • support for exceptionally large projects with hundreds of thousands of rows.

CTO Aaron Pazurik comments: 'We're building products that allow our clients to differentiate their offerings in a competitive marketplace while making fieldwork more efficient at the same time. These enhancements reflect the increasing demand our global market research customers are placing on the implementation of mobile solutions as a core part of their daily operations.'
