AudienceScience Buys German Rival

US behavioral targeting technology firm AudienceScience (formerly Revenue Science) has acquired German rival Wunderloop. Terms were not disclosed.

Jeff Hirsch and Torsten AhlersHamburg-based demographic targeting firm Wunderloop has developed 'wunderloop custom' and 'wunderloop connect' to collect information about online users' behaviour. Its platform has been designed to enable clients to target Internet users with relevant ads, content and shopping offers.

AudienceScience offers both an Audience Gateway technology platform and a targeting marketplace, which record billions of 'behavioral events' daily from more than 386 million unique Internet users. The firm says the acquisition of Wunderloop will enhance its platform.

'We have established ourselves as the clear industry leader in superior technology, data quality and unsurpassed expertise,' boasts AudienceScience CEO Jeff Hirsch. 'This expansion with Wunderloop's outstanding team and technology will both expand our Audience Gateway and strengthen our European presence.'

Wunderloop CEO Torsten Ahlers adds that the partnership will enable his firm to export its technology to the US, while enhancing its offering in Europe.

The acquisition is subject to third-party approval.
