In the UK, professional and financial services research specialist Acritas has reported a 104% increase in sales for the last six months, while revenue doubled. The firm has also announced its plan to become a 'global knowledge hub' for the legal profession.

Lisa HartAcritas currently works for clients in the accounting, legal, property, insurance, investment and public sectors. Services include client feedback, brand and communications, and thought leadership, as well as ready-made syndicated studies.

In addition, its 'sharplegal' market survey offers a brand tracking / buyer behaviour measurement and benchmarking tool to the legal profession.

CEO Lisa Hart explains that the firm is currently in the process of evolving its business from a market research agency to a company focused on providing insight to the legal profession: 'We are currently working with 35 of the world's top 100 law firms; our research is helping firms develop strategy and enhance business performance as they cope with today's corporate environment', she comments.

During the last six months, the firm has added to its team of 30 with the recruitment of 12 new staff at its offices in New York, Asia and its headquarters in Newcastle. These appointments have been part-funded by a GBI grant from One North East.
