TFC Restructures after Leaders Resign

July 21 2010

WPP-owned global trend research consultancy The Futures Company (TFC) has appointed a new management team following the resignation of its CEO Sian Davies, Executive Chairman Crawford Hollingworth, and Global MD Sarah Davies.

Will GalgeyTFC told DRNO that the three have resigned 'on their own accord', and will make an announcement about their plans once they have left the business. They are currently on gardening leave.

As a result of the resignations, the firm has promoted former MD Will Galgey to the London-based position of Global CEO. Additionally current EV Chairman J. Walker Smith has taken the role of Executive Chairman; COO Kevin Brown becomes CEO, North America; and Sarah King steps up from Deputy MD to Managing Director, UK.

Galgey - a 10 year TFC veteran - began his career on the WPP Fellowship programme. He is a founding member of the global board that created TFC following the merger of Henley Centre HeadlightVision and Yankelovich in 2008.

Recently Galgey has been closely involved with the entry of TFC into the South American market through the launch of operations in Buenos Aires and Mexico City, enhancing the firm's existing functions in the UK, the US and India.

'Having known Will since his early days as a WPP Fellow, it is a particular pleasure to see him take the helm of The Futures Company,' comments Eric Salama, CEO of TFC parent Kantar. 'He provides continuity for the next phase of TFC's growth and expansion while doing so with his characteristic energy, enthusiasm and inventive thinking.'

Separately, TFC is developing several insight delivery platforms and will soon unveil 'TFC Client Gateway'; a new online platform for trends and futures insights, which integrates data, observational insights and thought leadership.
