Growth for Cello's Research Arm

In the UK, Cello's Research and Consulting division has returned like-for-like income growth for the first half of the year, driven by 'continued robustness' in client activity levels, most notably in pharma and health-related sectors, as well as international work.

The division includes Leapfrog, 2CV, MRUK, RS Consulting, Face, Insight Research Group and MSI.

For the period, the Cello group has reported 'double digit' growth in operating profit, following what it described in May as a solid recovery in its profitability for the first quarter of the year.

In a statement, Cello said the group continues to experience increasing income from its international blue chip client base, with particular growth arising from the US, where further organic investment is planned for the second half of the year.

Cello recently relocated its US business to a new office in New York, which will act as a resource hub for other group brands as they build their US client base.

The firm says income from UK clients has 'held up well', with several notable private sector wins, although it anticipates further declines in public sector income over the coming months.

CEO Mark Scott comments: 'We are seeing the benefits from our international investment programme initiated two years ago, and we are set well for the remainder of the year.'

Cello's Board says revenue for the next quarter remains 'solid' and, subject to proper conversion of existing client opportunities, is optimistic for a 'good' full year outcome.
