Clearspring Launches Online Audience Platform

In the US Clearspring Technologies, the company responsible for content sharing platform AddThis, has launched a new product, Audience Platform, enabling advertisers and publishers to reach audiences categorised according to their influence or intent.

Trialling since January with major clients, the platform helps to deliver highly targeted audiences for video and display campaigns, using demand-side platforms and ad exchanges. Categories include movies, automotive, telecom, social influencers and more.

Publishers of the 1.5m unique domains using AddThis to share web pages, widgets, photos, and video around social networking sites can now gain aggregated insights about their visitors using Audience Platform, which makes use of the firm's proprietary real-time data processing engine to analyze and sort influence and intent data.

Clearspring says it has active links with the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) to ensure a consumer-friendly and privacy-sconscious approach. 'Our network presents us with a tremendous opportunity to improve the user experience online', comments CEO Hooman Radfar, 'but with that opportunity comes a responsibility, that we take very seriously, to make consumer privacy a top priority'.

Radfar says AddThis 'reaches over 1 billion people online and drives more sharing than any other publisher platform of its kind', giving massive potential for the proprietary analytics engine used by Audience Platform.
