Fiftyfive5 Hires for Semiotics Push

Australian market research consultancy Fiftyfive5 has appointed semiotics specialist Dr Rob Engels as a Qualitative Consultant, to help shape the firm's qual offer using semiotics, cultural trends and ethnography.

Dr Rob EngelsFiftyfive5 was launched in May by two former Directors of The Leading Edge (TLE), Karen Phillips and Darren Kemp. Earlier this month, they appointed ex-TLE Chief Executive Mark Sundquist as a Partner.

Engels joins from consumer market research agency Square Holes, where he worked as Senior Account Manager. Prior to this he also worked at TLE, where as a Consultant in the qual division he had a remit to consult across the business's research teams.

Before this, Engels was a Research Director at Vivid Research and Heartbeat Trends, and a Senior Account Manager at Stancombe Research & Planning. He began his career as a Research Executive at Flamingo International in London after graduating with a PhD in Clinical Medicine from Oxford University.
