Yottaa Gets $4m, Launches Web Analytics Tools

August 31 2010

In the US, start-up technology firm Yottaa has completed a $4m investment deal, while also unveiling a suite of free web performance analytics tools.

Coach WeiBoston-based Yottaa monitors ranks and analyzes the performance of web sites, and provides an open database to answer questions on the speed and performance of sites. The firm was co-founded by Web.2.0 specialist Coach Wei, who is also the founder and Chairman of Rich Internet Application technology firm Nexaweb.

Yottaa's first product 'Yottaa Insight', which is available immediately in beta, promises users the ability to monitor, analyze and improve site performance. Users enter their chosen URL into the tool, to find out about a site's performance and user experience over time, and across multiple geographies.

'It is not easy to measure user experience and it is particularly hard to quantify the business impact of performance,' explains Wei. 'By innovating at the forefront of cloud computing, we are able to take a search engine approach to web performance, providing open access and easy to use solutions that allow all sites to achieve a better Internet experience.'

Wei's first round of funding has been led by General Catalyst Partners, Stata Venture Partners and CambridgeWest Ventures.
