Spedding Returns to Synovate

Former Synovate Healthcare CEO Michael Spedding has returned to the company with the title of 'CEO, Geographies'.

Spedding left the group last year, to establish London-based healthcare marketing services firm PharmaGems with Synovate's former CFO Peter Chopra.

Precise reasons for rejoining his previous employer are not known, but he remains a shareholder and Board Director of PharmaGem.

Spedding's last role at Synovate was that of CEO with overall responsibility for leadership of the firm's businesses in ANZ, Asia, China, Japan, CEEME, Africa, Southern Europe and Latin America.

Prior to this, he spent five years leading Synovate Healthcare, where he doubled turnover through organic growth and increased profits almost threefold in five years. He joined the firm in 2003 from NOP World, where he had worked as COO and CFO. Before this, he held various senior international management and financial positions at United Business Media, Virgin Group, Exco International and The Pack Group in New Zealand.

A Synovate spokesperson told DRNO that a full statement about the appointment is likely to be released next week.
