Former eBay Researcher Joins Virtual Surveys

UK-based Virtual Surveys has appointed former eBay user experience specialist James Lang as Web Research Director.

James LangVirtual Surveys, which was founded in 1998 by former RI Director Pete Comley, pioneered web site research in Europe, and now also provides advertising, customer experience, product and service optimisation, and online communities.

Lang joins with more than 14 years' market research industry experience, specialising in qual research and usability analysis. For the past two years, he served as Head of User Experience and Search at eBay Australia & New Zealand, where he was involved in a number of areas including overall ecommerce strategy, search and information architecture. Prior to this, he spent eight years as MD of research agency Kahani in Surrey. He began his career at Hyder PLC.

In his new role working alongside Virtual Surveys' Sales and Marketing Director Graeme Lawrence, Lang is responsible for strengthening the firm's digital research offer and driving sales and marketing activity.

He will also be involved in developing innovation in user testing and evaluation methodologies across all platforms, with a particular focus on mobile, agile software development and measuring the impact of social media.
