Smith and Partners Form Syndicated Research Venture

November 11 2010

UK research veteran David Smith has teamed up with management consultants Adam Riley and Jennifer Del Carlo to form Evolution Research, which will offer syndicated sector reports combined with consultancy services.

David SmithSmith is Director of insight consultancy DVL Smith Ltd, while Riley and Del Carlo head up management consultancy DGL. Riley is a former Group Head for International Research of IPSOS UK, while Del Carlo until recently led Bain & Company's Client Development group. Nigel Culkin of the University of Hertfordshire, a Fellow of the MRS and CIM, also joins the senior team at Evolution.

Their new venture will commission independent qual and quant research in areas they know to be of high client interest, and make the resulting reports available on a syndicated basis: bespoke consultancy will also be offered to purchasers wishing to follow up the initial findings.

The partners say this model gives clients leading edge research and experienced marketing consultancy at an affordable price.

Evolution's first report is already available: based on a major online study conducted in China with Chinese students who are considering undertaking postgraduate study overseas, the report is targeted at universities around the world interested in optimising their international recruitment strategy.

Reports on topics in the commercial insurance and pharmaceutical sectors will follow soon: the former will survey UK SMEs on their attitudes towards insurance purchase and will be offered to insurance companies and brokers.

DVL Smith Ltd, now based in Shad Thames, London SE1, is online at www.dvlsmith.com , while the new company's home page is at www.evoinsight.com .
