EMS Buy Gives M3 Global Medical Panel

November 22 2010

London-based EMS Research is to be acquired by M3 USA, the parent company of medical panel specialist MDLinx. M3 says the deal will create 'the largest verified provider of physicians and other healthcare professionals in the world'.

EMS was founded in 1999 and in addition to offices in London, Berlin and Paris owns a number of viewing facilities launched in 2006, including what it claimed was the largest in England.

The buyer will create a new international division, M3 Global Research, uniting the panels of MDLinx in the USA, EMS in Europe, and M3 companies across Asia. With offices in the US, UK, Germany, Japan, Korea and China, the division will provide access to 1.3 million verified doctors and other healthcare professionals in more than 60 countries, segmented into more than 700 subspecialities. The new division will offer wuant and qual surveys as well as omnibus capability.

M3 USA is itself a subsidiary of Tokyo-based M3 Inc. M3 USA CEO Aki Tomaru comments: 'Europe was the missing component in our market research global coverage strategy. The EMS acquisition firmly secures our place as the healthcare market research industry leader.'

Neil Jarvis, Director at EMS, adds: 'By teaming with M3, we have greatly expanded the depth and breadth of our abilities on a global perspective'.
