ESG Buys Data Management Insights Specialist

In the US, IT industry analyst The Enterprise Strategy Group (ESG) has acquired data management consultancy CentricInfo. Terms were not disclosed.

ESG provides forward-looking market intelligence, analysis and consulting services, as well as market research and hands-on technical product testing. The company has now added CentricInfo's databases, data warehousing, business intelligence and data integration services, and appointed founder Julie Lockner (pictured) as a Senior Analyst and Vice President of IT Advisory Services for Data Management.

Lockner joins with more than 15 years' experience architecting, developing, and marketing business application software. At CentricInfo, she led a specialized team of consultants who were tasked with assessing business requirements, and pulling together and implementing solutions.

'Organizations need insight into their businesses from the massive amounts of data maintained across the enterprise,' states ESG founder and Senior Analyst, Steve Duplessie. 'Broadening our portfolio of quant and qual research, market analysis, and IT advisory services to cover big data and other data management issues will provide end-users and vendors guidance in navigating these technologies and opportunities, especially with Julie Lockner at the helm.'
