Obituary: Dr Michael Antecol

TNS Canada has announced that Dr Michael Antecol, Vice President for Western Canada, passed away suddenly on December 29, 2010 at the age of 42.

Antecol's practice areas included media research (with a focus on local TV news), advertising, marketing, social marketing, young consumers, technology, telecoms and energy. He was also the Study Director for the firm's syndicated Consumer Confidence Index.

Prior to joining TNS in 2007, Antecol was VP at Pollara Market Research, Director of Online Research at Frank N Magid Associates, and served as Wired Youth Analyst at Forrester Research.

TNS Canada's MD Michael Ennamorato said all those who knew Antecol were impressed by his vibrant personality and drive, as well as his determination to embrace innovation and creative thinking.

'Michael never hesitated to go the extra mile for clients and colleagues alike,' stated Ennamorato. 'His success at building a solid and growing Vancouver practice and at establishing a close-knit, strongly motivated team is widely recognized. Michael will be greatly missed at TNS Canada both personally and professionally.'

Raymond Gee has been named Acting Manager of the Vancouver office, with support from TNS Canada veteran Moira Silcox.
