idio Acquires Social Media Agency thrudigital

In the UK, content analytics platform idio has acquired social media development agency thrudigital for an undisclosed sum.

Edward Barrow and Andrew Daviesidio is a semantic platform designed to help brands and publishers understand and extract value from large volumes of content and customer conversations. thrudigital, meanwhile, builds web sites, social networks, widgets, and social media apps, and also offers a range of social media products.

The acquisition will provide idio with a central London location from which to grow its roster of international clients.

Andrew Davies, idio Commercial Director explains: 'Through the transaction, we have been able to strengthen our management team and bring onboard superb engineers that have worked on enterprise-level social media projects for clients in the private and public sectors.'

All staff will be retained and integrated into idio, where thrudigital MD Charles Dalton-Moore now becomes Operations Director. In the coming months, the firm has plans to expand both its Exeter and London offices.

idio founder and Technical Director Edward Barrow says that the acquisition represents a 'significant step' in the firm's strategy to create insight through intelligent content and customer 'data decisioning'.
