ISG Snaps Up Public Sector Specialist STA

US-based Information Services Group (ISG), the acquisition vehicle set up by former VNU boss Michael Connors, has acquired Public Sector specialist STA Consulting. Terms were not disclosed.

The STA Consulting team of Nathan Frey, Mitt Salvaggio and Kirk TealFounded in 1997, Austin, Texas-based STA Consulting (Salvaggio, Teal & Associates) provides information systems consulting in public sector areas such as government operations, IT and project management, contract negations, procurement and human resources.

The firm's 'Value Pocket Business Case/Return on Investment Studies' gather information using a combination of interviews, surveys, document research and best practices benchmarks.

Connors says the acquisition unites two ISG companies: outsourcing and advisory firm TPI and business and IT benchmarking specialist Compass with STA Consulting. He states, 'This acquisition strengthens our public sector vertical and increases our expertise in IT strategic planning, ERP, enterprise administrative systems and project management. As with our recent acquisition of Compass, this combination demonstrates we are building ISG into an industry-leading, global information-based services company for the private and public sectors.'

Mitt Salvaggio, Managing Partner of STA Consulting added that combining with TPI and Compass would enable his firm's clients to benefit from 'world-class best practices, benchmarking and sourcing advisory experience.'
