DemandTec Ramps Up Retail Analytics with M-Factor Buy

In the US DemandTec - which provides consumer demand management software and analytics - has acquired predictive analytics software developer M-Factor, which works with clients in the consumer products sector. Terms were not disclosed.

Dan FishbackDemandTec's software and analytical services take a scientific approach to understanding consumer behavior, and help retailers and consumer products manufacturers define merchandising and marketing strategies.

The firm's President and CEO Dan Fishback (pictured) says that through the acquisition, DemandTec will be able to deliver a framework for optimizing marketing mix, trade promotion planning, and shopper marketing decisions on a unified platform, and drive more profitable, 'shopper-centric planning decisions' for consumer products companies.

'Our two companies share a common heritage of applying math and science to drive the most effective, shopper-centric marketing and trade planning decisions for the largest retailers and consumer products companies around the globe,' states M-Factor CEO Bruce Pagliuca.
