Zokem Raises Funds and Appoints M-Metrics Founder

Smartphone and tablet research provider Zokem has today appointed Seamus McAteer, founder of M-Metrics, to its board. It has also raised further funds from existing investors.

Zokem specializes in providing on-device technology that works on all major mobile handset and tablet platforms for mobile audience measurement. M-Metrics was bought by comScore in 2008 with McAteer still on the management team. Since then he has been the Managing Director of Majestic Research and ITG.

According to McAteer, who has 15 years' experience of building research businesses in the mobile sector, Zokem 'is positioned to fulfill on the clear market demand that exists for real behavioral data among publishers, agencies, brands, and telcos in all regions.'

Harry Santamäki, Chairman of Zokem, said: 'Needless to say, we are very pleased to extend our board with such a formidable figure of the industry. Seamus McAteer is able to support our CEO Hannu Verkasalo and our management team in better executing and managing our growth and expansion in the mobile media measurement industry.'

Zokem's additional funds were raised on the basis of fulfilment of key business milestones, as planned in April 2010.

The company also announced today it has made Zokem Mobile Life market reports available in 5 new countries, those being Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and Holland. The company continues to run its business out of Helsinki with presence now also in New York, Paris, and London.
