IMS Hires for New Touch Technology Practice

Electronics market specialist IMS Research has set up a Touch Market Research & Consulting practice in the US, and appointed touch technology specialist Geoff Walker to lead it as Principal Analyst.

Geoff WalkerIMS Research was founded in 1989 and employs more than 100 analysts at its UK headquarters and operations in the US, China, Taiwan and Korea. The team provides syndicated market studies, custom research and consultancy services to clients in the global electronics market.

Earlier this year, the firm launched a new 'Strategic Market Assessment' (SMA) service, to provide clients with recommendations for the best markets to focus on to achieve profitable business growth.

Walker, who joins with more than 20 years' 'touch' experience, most recently served as Marketing Evangelist and Touch Industry Guru at touch screen supplier NextWindow. Prior to this, he was Global Director of Product Management and Business Development for touch screen and computer manufacturer Elo TouchSystems. Earlier in his career, Walker ran his own consultancy, focusing on touch screens, displays, and mobile computers; and worked for Handspring, Fujitsu Personal Systems, GRiD Systems and Hewlett-Packard.
