DJS Research Triples Turnover in Two Years

May 23 2011

In the north of England, MR agency DJS Research Ltd has reported annual turnover of around £1.5m, another rapid rise after exceptional results the previous year. The company has added eight new members of staff so far in 2011 and recently announced two promotions.

Danny SimsThis year's growth - more than fifty percent - follows a doubling of turnover the previous year.
The company now employs 23 permanent staff along with a large team of face to face and in-house telephone interviewers.

MD Danny Sims says the climate for MR 'continues to be challenging' but comments: 'Being based in the North (Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire) we are well placed to offer clients 'more for less' through Senior Directors/Researchers carrying out projects from start to finish.' He adds: 'we are now an agency of size within the North, with many talented researchers. We want to grow further but without losing the family orientated culture that makes DJS Research a special place to work.'

At the start of the year, DJS added three new recruits: former ORC International exec Gayle Higginson as Research Manager; Optmisa's Simon Butcher as a Senior Spec Writer; and Alex Noden, who joined from Boden as a Research Assistant.

More recently, five more appointments have been made. SRE Matt Bristow worked previously at URS/Scott Wilson Group and Knight, Kavanagh & Page; while graduate Alex McCluckie and former Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council researcher Laura Crowe both join as Trainee Research Executives. Anne Russell, previously at Harris Interactive, joins in an Executive Support role while Technology graduate Alistair Smith comes on board as a Trainee Spec Writer.

The company has also announced the promotion of Sarah Smith and Maya Winter from Senior Researchers to Research Managers, taking a more active role in winning and developing business in the cosmetics and healthcare sector, and retail/financial services, respectively. Smith has six years' MR experience including a placement with Unilever and a spell at Conquest Research. Winter started in MR at Ci Research in 2003 with a degree from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.

Sims comments: 'Sarah and Maya are very important members of the research team. We have had excellent feedback from their clients who appreciate the value they add to the research process.'
