'Missed Call' Free Polling Launches in India

In India, technology firm MobiGlobe has launched a new way to poll people through their mobile phones, at no cost to the participants.

Clients use the new Ring2Poll portal to publish their surveys, where they also provide a unique phone number for each possible answer to their questions.

Respondents then call the phone number which corresponds to their answer, and the service then registers their vote and cuts off their call without a charge being incurred.

Users can only register for one poll at a time, and clients can track response in real-time through the portal.

The service has already been used by a number of political parties, in order to analyze politicans' popularity prior to elections. In addition, Ring2Poll has been used for product marketing, general surveys and media research projects.

Bangalore-based MobiGlobe was founded in 2009 by telecoms engineers Hiremath Sangamesh and Kishore Keerthi, who now employ a team of project managers, business analysts, software architects and developers who all have mobile industry experience.
