MCH Strategic Data Buys Wilson Marketing Group

In the US, database marketing specialist MCH Strategic Data has acquired database management and research firm Wilson Marketing Group (WMG), which specializes in the early childhood market. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Peter LongMCH provides business-to-institution marketing data, including a database of more than five million educators. The company is headquartered in Sweet Springs, MO, with additional offices in California, Colorado, Connecticut, and Illinois.

Launched in 1979, Los Angeles-based WMG has developed a database of 100,000 child care centers and more than 114,000 school-based pre-kindergarten and kindergarten programs. The firm also has a separate database of nearly 200,000 licensed family day care residences and group care homes. It also conducts qual and quant market research for studies including segmentation, market assessment, competitive analysis, new product development and customer satisfaction.

As part of the deal, WMG will retain its California-based operations, while founder and President Mike Wilson joins MCH as Director, Early Childhood Market.

Commenting on the transaction, MC Strategic Data's CEO Peter Long (pictured) said: 'Wilson Marketing Group's clients will gain access to an additional 500,000 early childhood educators in school-based programs from the MCH database, including teachers, administrators, counsellors, social workers and librarians. They will also be able to use our services for e-mail, home address and social media marketing.'
