Ebiquity Buys Australian Media Analyst FMM

October 14 2011

UK-based media and marketing analytics firm Ebiquity has acquired Australian media analytics consultancy Falkner Media Management (FMM) for an initial consideration of $AUD 4m (£2.5m). An additional $AUD 1.9m will be paid if the firm meets certain performance criteria by 2014.

Eric FaulknerSydney-based FMM, which was founded by Eric Faulkner (pictured) in 1998, has a turnover of $AUD4.9m (£3.1m) and employs 25 staff members. As part of the deal, Faulkner, General Manager Chris Graham and the rest of the team will join Ebiquity.

Ebiquity CEO Michael Greenlees says the acquisition of FMM strengthens his firm's offering in Australia and South East Asia: 'The Asian and Pacific region is a complex and growing market and FMM already works with a number of significant clients across the region'.

Ebiquity has enjoyed a year of rapid growth - in July, it reported a 108% increase in total revenue to £44.2m for the year ended 30 April 2011 (2010: £21m). Earlier this year, it took a 50.1% stake in its Russian media practice partner, The Joined Up Media Company (JUMC), and in May it acquired TCRG Holdings Limited, the parent company of reputation specialist Echo Research.
