DDB UK Hires for Restructured Analytics Team

Ad agency DDB UK has hired former ITV information specialist Dr Shorful Islam as Head of Data. The agency is restructuring its DDB Matrix data division in order to provide clients with new forms of intelligence.

Dr Shorful IslamDDB UK offers a range of advertising, digital, direct and experiential marketing services. The Matrix division is led by European Director Les Binet and combines web analytics, social, customer and econometrics with data visualisation, while also developing its own bespoke insight tools.

Islam, who will work alongside Planning Partner Dom Boyd, joins with more than a decade's data and analytics experience across the public and private sectors. He worked at ITV for the past four years, latterly as Head of Business Information and Customer Data Strategy, with a remit including responsibility for web analytics, statistical analysis, forecasting and predictive analytics.

Prior to this, Islam served as Senior Insight Analyst at online gaming firm Betfair, where he built statistical models to understand, predict and influence customer behaviour; and as Senior Research and Intelligence Officer at the London Borough of Newham.
