IDG Adds Motivation Metrics to Employee Surveys

December 6 2011

In the US, full service agency IDG Research Services has partnered with behavioral consultancy The Motivation Factor to launch a program which adds personal engagement and motivation measurement to its employee surveys.

Janet KingThe Motivation Factor has developed a system to help individuals understand how their personal motivation factors contribute to organizational goals. Then, by using recent developments in brain research and neuropsychology, it measures how well these individuals are able to manage their own personal motivation and engagement levels.

IDG says that by combining its traditional organization metrics with insight into the capability to self-motivate, clients can now take action to create high-performance teams.

General Manager/VP Janet King explains: 'We have found that traditional surveys can measure how effective an organization is at satisfying employees, but the surveys don't capture how effective employees are at managing their own engagement and motivation to achieve the organization's goals. This partnership enables us to expand the scope of traditional employee satisfaction surveys to better understand employee perspectives, so they are more willing to work toward employer objectives.'
