December 20 2011

In the UK, broadcaster Sky has appointed Which? Magazine's Head of Insight Harry Mirpuri as Research Director in its marketing strategy team. He takes up his new role in January.

Harry MirpuriMirpuri has worked for consumer organisation Which? for six years, taking responsibility for all market and consumer insight and for overseeing the insight team comprising innovation managers, market analysts, mystery shopping specialists and statisticians. Prior to this, he was Head of Market Research at the RAC and held senior research roles at CGU Plc, NatWest Bank and Network Research. Mirpuri began his research career at GfK NOP.

In his new role reporting to Sky's Marketing Strategy Director Danny Russell, Mirpuri will lead consumer, broadcast and media research, as well as the firm's 'Customer Closeness' programme which encourages employees to interact directly with customers.

Russell commented: 'I have worked with Harry for several years on the council at AURA and have always been impressed with how he's driven action from well communicated research findings. He's a great addition to the team and will help Sky continue to raise the bar in terms of understanding and responding to the needs of customers both now and into the future.'

Mirpuri replaces Julian Dobinson, who has moved into the new role of Insight Director for Content and Media. Dobinson has worked for the firm for 11 years, prior to which he was Head of Research at ITV and at Granada Television.
