New Twitter App Backed by Brains

December 21 2011

Social media monitoring firm E.life has launched an iPad app called the e.lifemonitor, to help execs monitor their organisations' presence on Twitter. Users can also access an optional support service provided by the firm's team of social media analysts.

Jairson VitorinoE.life, which is based in Brazil with offices in Germany, Spain and Portugal, uses its own technology to monitor and analyse conversations taking place online.

The new free e.lifeMonitor app provides a dashboard with reports which list top users ranked by followers, locations, top re-tweets, top terms and daily volume charting. Users can register up to three brands and compare their Twitter presence, and as an option, 'negative' or 'positive' terms can be used to track sentiment.

Company founder and CTO Jairson Vitorino comments: 'Our competitors are wholly focused on the tools, which without a human brain behind them, do not offer true market intelligence. That is why we offer our e.lifeMonitor tool for free - because what really matters is the service and not the tools used as a means to provide it. Data without an intelligent analysis has no positive effect on a company's social media strategy and might end up taking users in the wrong direction.'

The firm's new app will soon be ready for tablets and other operating systems, and will be extended to monitor brand presence on Facebook and other social networks.
