Psyma Promotes Wachter to CEO Role

In Germany, Bernd Wachter has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of qual specialist The Psyma Group, succeeding Fargel Matthias who is retiring after ten years in the role.

Founded in Nurnberg in 1957 by Dr.s Reinhold Bergler, Manfred Hambitzer and Klaus Haupt, Psyma Group is the holding company for sixteen agencies focusing on specific methodologies and sectors such as pharmaceutical, consumer goods, financial services, automotive and online research.

In addition to staff at its base in Germany, the firm employs more than 260 people in 13 countries including Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and Russia, as well as sites in Philadelphia, Mexico City, Sao Paulo and Beijing.

Since joining the firm in 1993, Wachter has served as Chief Financial Officer, and Vice Chairman and MD of Consumer Market Research. In 2001 he was appointed to the Board, and became responsible for the Psyma companies and investments in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as serving as founding CEO for the firm's online fieldwork specialist ODC Services.
