Revolution Analytics Hires New CEO

February 3 2012

In the US, statistical software specialist Revolution Analytics has hired former Accenture Analytics Global MD David Rich as its new CEO, replacing SPSS founder Dr Norman Nie who has held the role since 2009.

David Rich and Norman NieNie will remain a company director and serve as Senior Advisor for Products and Strategy. He joined Revolution after the sale of his firm SPSS to IBM in 2009.

Revolution provides software and support for the open source 'R' statistical computing language, enabling statisticians, scientists and others to create predictive models and derive meaning from large sets of data.

Rich, who is a 28-year veteran of Accenture, was most recently responsible for leading the firm's investment in predictive analytics solutions. Prior to this, he had global responsibility for Accenture's CRM Service Line and national responsibility for the Communications, High Tech and Media industry sectors.

Commenting on Rich's appointment, Nie said: 'Revolution Analytics is primed for a different set of proven leadership abilities - someone with the knowledge and relationships to accelerate large-scale adoption of the company's products. David has the vision, energy, career experience required to take the company to the next level, and together, we will help revolutionize the industry in the best interest of our customers.'
