thismoment Buys Social Media Analyst

In the US, social media monitoring and engagement platform the Position2 Brand Monitor has been acquired by thismoment, a company providing software for the management of social media content. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Position2 developed a platform to enable companies to monitor social media conversations in real-time, track brands across social media, identify influencers talking about a brand or service, and obtain detailed analytics about the process. This will now be integrated with thismoment's Distributed Engagement Channel, to enable clients to simultaneously drive content engagement and customer conversation management across all social media channels.

thismoment says the integration will assist marketing campaign decisions with deeper analytics, adding conversation volumes, sentiment, trends, demographics and influencer identification. The acquisition also gives it a product and technical center in Bangalore, India.

Rajiv Parikh (pictured), the former CEO of Position2 Brand Monitor, has joined thismoment as SVP of Business Development, with responsibility for leading social media listening capabilities and growth in the Asian markets.

Parikh comments: 'Through our technology, customers will now have a better understanding of marketing campaign performance, can move more quickly to leverage trends, can track conversations to better understand market sentiment and can drive higher message retention.'
