App Analyst Kontagent Reports Revenue Leap

In the US, app user analysis specialist Kontagent has reported a 500% increase in annual revenue to 'just under $10m'.

Founded in 2007, Kontagent tracks more than 1,000 social apps, over 150 million monthly active users, and in excess of 15,000 messages every second. Its proprietary kSuite analytics platform offers real-time behavioral insights for social, mobile and web, to understand how users are connecting, interacting and behaving with regard to their apps.

Last year, the firm closed a $12m Series B funding round, which it is using to continue product innovation and to expand into new coverage areas including mobile.

CMO Dan Kimball says the company is in the process of building a 'deeper' product, to offer the benefits that are typically associated with home-built business intelligence tools in an 'inexpensive way'.
