March 9 2012

Rustin BanksThe firm's new funding has been led by Grotech Ventures, with participation from existing investors including David Cohen, the founder of TechStarts. Funds will also be used to double BlogFrog's headcount before the end of 2012, and open an additional office in New York City.

Boulder, CO-based BlogFrog's technology platform enables consumer-facing brands to 'activate' social media influencers according to niche topics and target demographics, while also creating advocate-driven content and conversations, and measuring performance with in-depth tracking and analytics.

Bloggers use the service to increase readership and traffic, create interaction with readers and followers, and nurture brand evangelists. Brands can then measure the conversations taking place using analytics that quantify consumer awareness, consideration, preference and purchase intent.

CEO and co-founder Rustin Banks (pictured) comments: 'Brand marketers and agencies need to be an authentic part of the conversation people are having long before they consider buying a product. We have engineered smart social media technology that lets brands activate thousands of digital influencers to spark and spread conversation.'
