Fanning Takes CEO Role at SSI

May 16 2012

Kees de Jong, the CEO of data collection and sampling solutions specialist SSI, has moved to the role of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. He has been replaced by Chris Fanning, who joined the firm in February as President and COO.

Kees de Jong and Chris Fanningde Jong, who had been CEO since 2009, previously founded Bloomerce Access Panels Europe, which was integrated into SSI in 2005. He was previously the co-founder of firms including BBI Group Holding Company, GDCC Call Center, Blauw Research and Admilot Consultancy Services.

Under de Jong's leadership, SSI invested in technology that resulted in the development of its online sampling platform SSI Dynamix, and he also led the merger with Opinionology. In his new position, he will focus on strategic development, while continuing to play a key role in the firm's online and off-line sampling and data collection methods.

Fanning joined in February with a 25-year background gained in business management, executive leadership, strategic planning and operations roles. Prior to SSI, he served as interim CEO of Lattice Semiconductor Corporation, having first joined the company in 1997 as Director, Strategic Planning.

According to de Jong, Fanning brings the experience and skills to continue to strengthen the organization and lead SSI into its next 'chapter of growth'. Fanning comments: 'I look forward to building upon the foundation that has been put in place by Kees and the team. We have a great team that is focused on innovation and service, and I am excited at the significant opportunity ahead for the company and its stakeholders.'
