Arbitron Hires Former Nielsen Exec for Mobile Push

Radio ratings giant Arbitron has appointed former Nielsen exec Derrik Dennis as Director of Sales for its mobile measurement solutions, which include the syndicated Arbitron Mobile Trends Panels.

Derrik DennisArbitron Mobile was established last summer, following the acquisition of Finnish mobile measurement firm Zokem. The division operates syndicated mobile research panels in six countries: the US, UK, Finland, Denmark, France, and Germany. It also operates custom panels, licenses its technology, and has performed ad hoc research in approximately 50 countries worldwide.

Dennis (pictured) joins from Nielsen, where most recently he served as Director, Product Leadership in the US, responsible for the Nielsen Mobile Insights attitudes and behavior study. Before this he was Director of the Telecom Practice in South Africa. Prior to joining Nielsen, Dennis worked at marketing software provider Revcube as Manager of Analytics, and he served as Project Lead at the Quality Planning Corporation. He began his career as a Statistical Analyst at Nielsen Media Research.

In his new San Francisco-based role, Dennis will report to Hannu Verkasalo, SVP of Arbitron Mobile, who comments: 'With Derrik's solid background in mobile, telecom, and client service, he brings strong skills and expertise to our US sales efforts.'
