Chiliad Names NLP Expert Turtle as Chief Scientist

In the US, big data specialist Chliad has appointed natural language processing (NLP) expert Howard Turtle as Chief Scientist, to lead development of the firm's analytics capabilities.

Howard TurtleChiliad's flagship Discovery/Alert tool enables organizations to collect and continuously monitor big data, both structured and unstructured, and conduct queries in conversational language.

Turtle joins with more than 35 years' experience in areas such as information retrieval and text extraction. He currently works at Syracuse University, New York as Director of the Center for Natural Language Processing, and he will continue in this role alongside his new position at Chiliad.

Earlier in his career, Turtle served in executive roles at several high tech companies, including as President of the CogiTech Group, Chief Scientist for West Publishing, and Chief Scientist at OCLC (Online Computer Library Center). He has also served in an advisory capacity to organizations such as the Library of Congress and the National Information Standards Organization.
