PR Newswire Launches Chinese Online Monitor

June 22 2012
PR Newswire, known for its press release services but increasingly focused on providing multimedia content and measurement platforms, has launched a web and social media monitoring platform for China.

CMM chartsThe firm’s China Online and Social Media Monitoring (CMM) platform aims to give martketers easy and consolidated access to relevant analysis of traditional, online and social media channels, in order to plan and evaluate their strategies as well as spotting potential crises.

Just last week the company launched a new tool called Agility, offering clients dashboard access to media monitoring and targeting, real-time engagement tools and content distribution capabilities.

CMM will provide in-depth monitoring of news from 21 key industries, from almost 100 news sources followed by Baidu and Google's news portals, online versions of 300+ major print media, plus blogs, online forums and the SINA and Tencent microblog platforms. It also offers crisis management alerts, keyword and headline monitoring, key data on influencers by keyword, and automated graphical email reporting options.

Lynn Liu, CMM Product Manager, says the service has been well received by major clients given early access to the tool in beta. Yujie Chen, MD of PR Newswire in China, says it is PR Newswire’s experience that distinguishes CMM from other comparable services, guaranteeing it is ‘a practical and useful tool that will aid organizations in better understanding the sentiment of Chinese consumers and the media’.
