In the US, telephone fieldwork company Issues & Answers has acquired Eastern Research Service’s (ERS) 78-seat call center in Florida, following the latter’s closure earlier in the year. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.

ERS, which was shuttered by parent firm Hispania Capital Partners in March, previously had three call centers - in El Paso, Texas, New Port Richey, Florida, and Juarez, Mexico.

Issues & Answers President and founder Peter McGuinness (pictured) confirmed that his firm would be re-hiring many of the managers, supervisors and interviewers who were formerly employed in Florida by ERS.

This will be Issues & Answers fifth call center, adding to existing facilities in Connersville, IN; Escanaba, MI; Iron Mountain, MI; and Grundy, VA. Additionally, the firm provides a full qual/quant service, which includes everything from survey and sampling design and project management, to data analysis and interpretation. It currently employs more than 50 full-time research professionals and over 600 part-time staff.

McGuiness explains: ‘This newly-acquired facility will provide Issues & Answers with one more facility to accommodate the active political polling season leading up to the presidential election.’
