Sands Relocates to LA, Seeks Funds for Growth

US neuroscience specialist Sands Research Inc (SRI) is relocating its headquarters from Texas to Los Angeles to be closer to its West Coast clients. It will also seek funds from the Californian investment community to fuel future growth.

SRI, which opened its first European office in Surrey, England in 2010, was established in 2007 by Chairman Dr Stephen Sands, and President & CEO Ron Wright, who previously founded EEG research software and equipment provider Neuroscan in the early 1990s.

Wright says the US base will be moved to the Los Angeles suburbs later this summer, although the company will maintain its manufacturing facility in El Paso, Texas. Additionally, Sands' Board has agreed that the firm seeks a B Round of investment, to fund further expansion.

Sands, who is a native of Los Angeles, comments: 'With our first company, Neuroscan, and now with Sands Research, we have had a long and extensive relationship with the academic and business community in LA and the rest of California. I look forward to building even stronger ties to extend our knowledge of consumer neuroscience.'
