Flurry Buys Trestle to Drive AppCloud Launch

July 27 2012

Mobile app analytics provider Flurry has acquired Seattle-based mobile start-up Trestle, which provides app developers with a cloud-based service through which to launch and host their apps and manipulate resulting data. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Simon KhalafLast year, Flurry added advanced audience segmentation and demographics estimates to its free Flurry Analytics service. As part of the acquisition, Flurry has integrated Trestle's service into its Analytics platform, and rebranded the service as Flurry AppCloud.

The integration will enable Flurry Analytics' more than 70,000 developers to target 'push' notifications to different parts of their audience, and then measure how those messages affect the way consumers use their 200,000 plus apps.

Brian Johnson, CEO of Trestle, comments: 'We're very excited to make Flurry AppCloud available to the tens of thousands of developers that are currently using Flurry's analytics and advertising platform. We share the Flurry vision of giving app developers an integrated platform upon which to build, measure, monetize and advertise their apps.'

Flurry President and CEO Simon Khalaf (pictured) says his firm evaluated numerous app cloud services companies and was very impressed with Trestle's solutions.
